Prayer for America 10/18/05

Heavenly Father, this morning I rejoice in each infant born in every state across our land. I thank you that these little ones are born in freedom and not to weary mothers fleeing famine, wars, and persecution. I thank you that these children are born into a land of plenty, a nation that will educate them. I ask you to protect them, guide them, and help each one to use their gifts for your glory and for the betterment of all humankind. Thank you, God, that our nation is committed to welcoming every child with equality, and, dear God, help me do my part to keep it that way. Amen.
