Prayer for America 11/01/05

God, our lives pour out from your spirit and flow like rivers into the ocean of life. At times we trickle along, swirling merrily over the stones scattered in our paths. Sometimes we flow fast and smooth along a pleasant, narrow course, glistening and bubbling in the sun. In the rapids, our lives churn and tumble as we crash into rocks in unexpected places. But it's life, god, it's life, and we carry on with your guidance, trusting that we'll safely reach the ocean of your love.

Whatever lies in our course, help us flow over and around it. Help us keep moving, trusting, journeying, believing. In God we trust.
