Prayer for America 11/18/05

Forgive us our debts. We owe so much to so many.
Today, Lord, help me to thank someone who serves me, my community, and my country. There is a firefighter who needs to be encouraged and a police officer who needs a smile. There is a teacher who needs a flower and a pastor who needs a prayer. There is a crossing guard who needs a wave and a garbage collector who needs a handshake.
So forgive us our debts, as we try to pay them back. Amen.
I like the Americans because they are healthy and optimistic. Franz Kafka, author
