Prayer for America 02/16/06

Father, right now in this country many are cold, hungry, in desperate need. Maybe they were born into poverty. Maybe a family crumbled, leaving them on the edge of survival. Maybe illness stole their resources. I know there have always been poor and needy people. I know there probably always will be. But I'm asking that you'll comfort those people in our country tonight.

Please bring hope to their hearts, food for their stomachs, and a decent place to sleep. Please help them to overcome the addictions and abuse that keep them so far from stability. Please bring loving people into their lives who will offer kindness and encouragement. Father, I ask that you will make this country stronger by strengthening the weakest among us. Thank you for offering your love to each of them.
