Israel's Raid on the Reactor

If Israel's plans are anything like what they did in 1981, Iran is screwed.

Watch this 44 minute documentary. So long as Israel still has brave warriors in their IAF and IDF, and leaders as determined, Iran stands no shot to see their nuclear weapons ambitions come to fruition.

25 years ago this June 7th, the Israeli Air Force successfully completed arguably the most amazing surprise attack in history when they took out Saddam Hussein's nuclear reactor.

As is going on today with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran, in 1980 Saddam's intentions were to eradicate Israel. With the help of French President Jacques Chirac, who sold the nuclear reactor capabilities to Saddam, Saddam was close to his goal.

Thankfully, the Israeli government and military had the courage to take matters into their own hands.

The story of "The Raid on the Reactor" is excellently described in this Military Channel exclusive, which includes interviews with the Israeli pilots who carried out the mission. I encourage everyone to watch it to get an idea of how this mission affected later missions in the Middle East (ie, the United States said that had Israel not taken out that reactor in 1981, the 1991 Gulf War would not have been as great a success in pushing Saddam out of Kuwait).

It is also eerily frightening how the situation in 1981 is so similar to what we are dealing with today with Iran.
