"A message to God"

I Asked God...

I asked for strength and God gave me difficulties to make me strong

I asked for wisdom and God gave me problems to solve

I asked for prosperity and God gave me brawn and brain to work

I asked for courage and God gave me dangers to overcome

I asked for patience God placed me in situations where I was forced to wait

I asked for love and God gave me troubled people to help

I asked for favors and God gave me opportunities

I received nothing I wanted I received everything I needed
My Prayer Has Been Answered.

I asked God to take away my pride, God said no.

He said, pride is not something He takes away, but rather I have to put down.

I asked God to cure my crippled child, God said no.

He said, her soul is whole, though her body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience, God said no.

He said, patience stems from suffering; it is not granted, but rather shapened.

I asked God for happiness, God said no.

He said, He grants me blessings, but whether or not it brings happiness is up to me.

I asked God to remove my suffering, God said no.

He said, suffering distances me from the worldly concerns, and brings me closer to Him.

I asked God to develop me spiritually, God said no.

He said, I must make the effort myself, but He'll prune me, so I can bear good fruits.

I asked God, does He love me? God said, Yes.

He granted His one and only begotten Son to die for me.

One day, I shall reside in the Kingdom of Heaven...
I believe.

I asked God to help me love others as He loves me.

God said, "Ah, you finally understand."

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve,

I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey;

I asked for health, that I might do greater things,

I was given infirmity, that I might do better things;

I asked for riches, that I might be happy,

I was given poverty, that I might be wise;

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of man,

I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God;

I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life,

I was given life, that I might enjoy things;

I got nothing that I asked for - but everything I had hoped for,

Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered,

I am among all men, most richly blessed.

If, when you ask, you do not immediately feel any special exercise of feeling, do not think that your prayer is not answered. The One who says,

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you;

for every one that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth;

and to him that knocketh it shall be opened," will hear and answer you.

Let us, then, ask and seek, and have the privilege of finding.

Christ says, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you,"--the yoke of restraint and obedience,--"and learn of me;

for I am meek and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your souls." We are to find rest by wearing his yoke and bearing his burdens.

In being co-workers with Christ in the great work for which he gave his life, we shall find true rest.

When we were sinners, he gave his life for us. He wants us to come to him and learn of him. Thus we are to find rest. He says he will give us rest.

"Learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart."

In doing this you will find in your own experience the rest that Christ gives, the rest that comes from wearing his yoke and lifting his burdens.

You see when we ask, we believe we have received what we ask according to His promises.

Then God might test or strengthen our resolve by delaying His response to let us know how strong our faith is.

Abraham waited a couple of decades to receive the promises; that is how strong his faith was.

If we doubt, the time delay could make us waver and God then shows us our weaknesses and strengthens us.

Matt. 21:22 “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

James 1:6 But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.

Matt. 14:28 ¶ Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

Matt. 14:29 And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.

Matt. 14:30 But seeing the wind, he became frightened, and beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Matt. 14:31 Immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and took hold of him, and *said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Faith is loyalty shown by words and deeds, but faith also is the knowledge of God’s Word.

When we understand God’s Word, we are at one with Him — He in us by His Words in us,

and us in Him by speaking His Words, asking in faith. All believers are at one with God and,

therefore, at one with one another. When we reach that maturity of God’s Words abiding in us,

we then no longer are tossed about by the waves of trickery and false doctrines. When we ask in faith, we speak the Truth.

Psa. 25:6 Remember, O LORD, Your compassion and Your lovingkindnesses,For they have been from of old.

Psa. 40:11 You, O LORD, will not withhold Your compassion from me;

Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.

Psa. 51:1 Be gracious to me, O God, according to Your lovingkindness;

According to the greatness of Your compassion blot out my transgressions.

Psa. 69:16 Answer me, O LORD, for Your lovingkindness is good;

According to the greatness of Your compassion, turn to me,

Psa. 72:13 He will have compassion on the poor and needy,

And the lives of the needy he will save.

While Our Father in Heaven knows what we need, He likes to hear it from us so that our joy may multiply.

He wants us to ask; He wants us to articulate our desires. Joy comes from the answer of prayer.

But, most of all Our Father in Heaven loves to answer our prayers because we then give Him glory.

When we give God glory, we give Him profound praise and acknowledgement as the only One who made the world and all things in it.

John 14:13 “Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Amen.
