Prayer for America 10/03/05
Autumn speaks of dying and decay, of a winding down of the cycle of life. Yet autumn has a beauty all its own, Lord, as greens are replaced by scarlets and golds and browns in rich profusion.
You have chosen this season to remind us that the closing of one door means the opening of another. Endings come, but they hold the promise of restoration.
You lead us through the seasons of our lives, Father, and give us beauty in each one. Autumn tells us there is still time to serve you, still much to give. Our hearts overflow with thankfulness for the bounty of our lives and the opportunities to live in the light of your love.
