Prayer for America 10/19/05

God, I thank you for the rich heritage you've given America. In less than 300 years, Father, you've already blessed us with wise ancestors, great victories in war, and a history worth celebrating. You've also given each of us a personal American heritage. Our parents and their parents lived through that history and have now handed us the responsibility to continue the work of making America great and keeping her free.

Help us honor that heritage, Lord, by honoring their memories. Help us celebrate the blessings you've shown us. help us seek your faces as new challenges arise. And help us each do our part to build on the heritage of our ancestors so our children can be proud as well.
