Veterans Day
I want to remember the veterans of foreign wars today, dear Lord. Many still live among us, some suffering silently from wounds of body, soul, and spirit. I ask that you would heal them by your consoling Spirit; free them from the turmoil of heart and mind that would keep them from enjoying the very liberties for which they fought.
The sacrifice of our veterans is moving and humbling, Father, in light of my life of relative ease and safety. I pause this moment to honor these brave men and women, bowing my head in reverence and gratitude for their selfless and heroic efforts to preserve life and liberty for others. Bless our veterans, dearest God! In your merciful name, amen.
