Prayer for America 12/23/05

For the right to disagree, God, I thank you. For the right to peaceably disagree and to assemble, I give you praise.

Freedom is a difficult concept to explain or understand, but we have the Bill or Rights, which guarantees us freedom to worship and assemble and protest.

So thank you, God, for a government of laws designed to make us free. Make us wise stewards of these rights. May we use our freedom to care for others and to honor you. Amen.

I love the Americans because they love liberty.
William Pitt, First Earl of Chatham, March 2, 1770
