Olga Vega was a penniless single mother of two back in the early 1980's. But she says there was always a lot of love in her home. And that's what makes her ordeal that much more difficult to endure.

Olga Vega/Mother: "I have suffered for 22 years. I feel like I've been punished for being young, for having two beautiful daughters. I know I was young but they didn't have to punish me like this."

Olga says she knows who punished her were once her friends.

Hector and Celia Mora were allegedly so enamored with Olga's two-year-old daughter Vanessa that they tried to paint her as an unfit mother to seize custody of the youngster.

In fact, the Mora's had actually succeeded in gaining partial custody when one day they disappeared without a trace, taking the two-year-old with them.

And Olga says, to this day, she blames herself.

Olga: "I didn't do a good job protecting them, you know, keeping them safe."
