Prayer for America 10/22/05

Blessed Lord, I heard a Chinese Christian prayer that says, "O Lord, reform our world, beginning with me." Help me remember that I must act instead of complain, give much rather than give in, offer my time, energy, and money rather than be stingy toward your people and my country. remind me every time I feel hopeless and powerless that a single change begins one step at a time and that change begins with me. For your glory, amen.

The greatness of our nation will not be measured by our gross national product or military power but by the compassion with which we respond to human needs at home and around the globe.
