Prayer for America 11/04/05

Thank you, Lord, for pilgrims who bravely sailed the treacherous seas to find a shore where they could worship you in freedom. Lord, create in me a pilgrim soul, determined, singleminded, and unafraid to stand in solidarity with good citizens whose ways are not my ways. help me to love them, to learn from them, and to be ever mindful that our pilgrims' sacrifices created freedom for all, not just for me. Amen.

Remember, remember always that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists. President Franklin D. roosevelt, in a speech before the Daughters of the American Revolution, April 21,1938
