Prayer for America 11/29/05

Dear God, I got to know my neighbor today. And what did I find out? That although he is of a different ancestry, he is just like me. That although he practices a different religion, he is just like me. That although he speaks a different language, wears different clothes, and eats different food, he is just like me. I got to know my neighbor today, and I found out that he, like me, is human.

Tolerance is not about acknowledging people and accepting their beliefs; rather, it is just the opposite--accepting people and acknowledging their beliefs.
