Prayer for America 12/10/05
Dear God, in the north, it's cold today. The thought of sunshine and green grass is a distant wish. Will summer ever come again? And in the south, it's warm today. What a strange world this is, when half of our country can be outdoors swimming while the other half is bundled up in mittens, caps, and long johns. Give those in the tundra a sense of warmth and peace and hope. Give those in the desert a sense of relief and joy and thankfulness. And give us all a sincere appreciation for the place we inhabit, whatever the weather may be. Amen.
Offering hope to others through a loving word, a thoughtful act, or a simple smile is the surest way to lift your own spirit.
