Prayer for America 12/14/05

Thank you, God, for the psalm of David that says: "the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Keep me mindful every moment that your word does not say, "Today just happened, so muddle through it." Thank you that this day offers my family, my neighbors, my country, the whole world, and me something to celebrate and be glad about. Despite personal sorrows and cares, every person of faith can rejoice in your promise of eternal life; every American can rejoice in our birthright of justice and freedom; every human can rejoice in having a Heavenly Father who listens to their every word. Thank you, God, for this day. Amen.
