Prayer for America 12/20/05

Lord, you are the God of all peace. As Joshua observed, you are Jehovah Shalom, the Lord our peace. Yet there is trouble in the world today. There are conflicts and wars. There are divorce proceedings and custody disputes. There are family battles, political battles, and military battles. And still, where you are, there is peace. So be with me today, God, and calm my heart. But more than that, fill our nation with your presence and soothe our troubled souls. We need you. We need your peace. Amen.

Hopeful eyes look upward, penetrating the thick blanket of clouds to the clear blue skies beyond.
