Prayer for America 01/13/06

In this quiet, cold season we turn our hearts toward you, O Lord. May our hearts be as open and bare toward you as the winter trees are in the skyline. Let nothing come between us--no pretense, no excuses, no barriers of any kind. In our bareness may we dare to be real, to show our true selves, and to trust that you love us no matter what. In your great love we pray, amen.

Know the benediction of the Lord in these days! In all your comings and goings, know that he is there. In all your joys and triumphs, know that he upholds you. In all your worries and heartaches, know that he cares. And in all your worship, celebrating, dancing, laughing--wherever you are--know that he is pleased.
