Lincoln's Birthday

Some great men have led our nation, Father. Thank you for George Washington, our first president, and for Abraham Lincoln, a man of tremendous moral courage who helped lead us through our darkest days. Thank you for the succession of presidents who have helped us recover from the many and varied crises that have arisen along our way.

Help our current president, Father, as he navigates the many issues--national and global--that meet him daily. Grant him wisdom and foresight. Grant him courage and strength of character to do what is right. Help me to remember to pray for him because without your guidance and empowerment, Lord, the task is too big for him. But with you upholding him, he will do well. Amen.
