Prayer for America 02/26/06

Dear God, you've blessed this nation from the beginning. You blessed us with courageous people who stood up for the idea of freedom. You blessed us with their foundational documents--the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights--to keep us on the path of freedom. And you blessed us with their children, who help fast to the purpose of freedom.

Thank you, Father, for those beginnings. Help us to never forget them or take them for granted. Help us to hold on to our ideals, to cherish them, and to fight for them. Help us to never give them up, either to sudden onslaught or incremental compromise. Help us to always remember we were born to freedom and to never surrender it.
