Prayer for America 03/17/06

Our Father, creator of all things and all people, we sing with joy for the infinite variety you bring to our homeland. We love our diversity, with people of all races and creeds and ethnic backgrounds fusing together as one. Nearly every country on earth can find a piece of itself here.

We are like a gigantic quilt, with patches of different shapes, colors, and patterns stitched together with intricate threads of common experience. Preserve our diversity, Lord, as we bask in the richness of shared customs, foods, literature, and art from around the world.
