Prayer for America 05/31/06

Lord, we thrive on hope. We all dream of love, fulfillment, appreciation, and simple happiness. With your help, there’s a lot we can do to make our dreams come true.

We must prepare the ground in our hearts. Then we have to plant our seeds and nurture them as they grow. When the first shoots push through, we must free the patch from the weeds of unfair demands and ridiculous expectations that choke our growth. Then, when our hopes come to fruition, they will be vibrant and strong. We will reap our harvest and share fruits with others, to encourage and inspire them, too.

Lord, help us look within and find our true hopes: the things to which we feel called and the creative acts we need to do to be abundant people. Help us sow and tend the seeds of hope.
