Prayer for America 06/15/06

Summer is coming to America, Lord, bringing with it blue-and-white dappled skies and warm winds that whisper across the forests, plains, and mountains. Life is lighter, brighter, friendlier in the lazy heat that lies on the beaches and fields. It seems easier, somehow, to go out and be--just live without intent.

And that's what you told us to do, isn't it? Live for the day, like the lilies of the field. Just be what we are, as we are. Just live.

Walking with you is like eternal summer. We bask in your love as we do in the warmth and light of the sun. We feel the touch of your voice as we do the summer breeze. We can be as we are and know that what we are is good in your eyes.
