Prayer for America 06/17/06

Lord, from coast to coast the children have come home from school. Lives change when the children come home. Things seem a little less organized, a little less manageable, a little less calm. Of course, things also seem a little more energetic, a little more exciting, a little more lively. Help all of us, whether or not we have children of our own, to welcome the kids home with open arms. Help us love them, encourage them, guide and direct them, accept them. Help us not to get exasperated, irritated, uptight, or unloving. No matter whose children they are, they hold the future in their hands. Help all adults to view all children as you do--precious, wondrous, and amazing. The children are home, God...give us strength. Amen.
