Prayer for America 06/29/06

Everyone has ideas about the right and wrong way to live: society, our parents, our partners, and even us. The trouble is, ideas differ, and in the end we get confused and ask, "What should I do?"

Often the result is a compromise. Tolerance and give and take are valuable qualities. No society and no friendship will function without them. But what if it all turns sour?

We've all made poor bargains from time to time, accepted someone else's values only to find they weren't doing us good.

Lord, when we're asked to compromise, help us decide if it's what you would want. Let's talk to find out if it's good, if it's true, and if it will make our lives better. And if the answer is yes, let us embrace our choices knowing they are your will.
