Prayer for America 06/25/06

Today, Father, be with every child in America who has no parents. Wrap your strong, loving, and gentle arms around their bodies and souls. Reassure them of your love. Whisper encouragement to their souls. Hold them safely in the harbor of your presence. God, bring forward the adults who can fill the roles of mother and father to these children. Give those adults courage, strength, vision, and guidance. Shower them with blessings and hope. Give them deep reservoirs of love for children who desperately need it. Bring healing and comfort to those children who have been broken or harmed. Bring hope to those children who feel hopeless. Bring welcoming acceptance to those children who feel hopeless. Bring welcoming acceptance to those children who have been rejected. No child should be alone, especially in a land that is blessed as richly and abundantly as ours. Bless the children, God, and show each of us what you would have us do to give them a future. Amen.
