Prayer for America 07/02/06

Father, it is justice that makes democracy possible in our great country.
When others wrong us, a cry goes up for a swift accounting of justice.

We rely on you, Lord, to help us react in fairness and reason.
We need you to help us understand the true meaning of justice.

You are a God of justice, and you require it of your children.
Be our model now as we strive to do your will and be your witnesses in the world.

The cry for liberty rises in every human soul. How fortunate we are to live in a land where that cry is met with a wide open door of freedom and opportunity.
