Prayer for America 07/16/06

Father, this is the month in which we celebrate our freedom. We set off fireworks into the night sky. We gather with family and eat outside. We wave flags and listen to patriotic music. It's our way of remembering the great freedom you've given us in America.

Thank you, God, for these traditions. Thanks for the fireworks and the cookouts and the parades, all of which remind us to tell our children why we love this country so much and why they should, too. Thank you mostly for that very freedom we celebrate. Help us never forget what it cost and what it's worth.

America is not only a wonderful place to visit, it is the best place to live.
