Prayer for America 07/17/06

(Based on Isaiah 43)
Loving God, in times of trouble all we can do is rest on your promises. Help us remember your promise to be with us:

Do not fear, for I have redeemed you:
I have called you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you.
For I am the Lord your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior...
You are precious in my sight,
and honored, and I love you.

Strengthen us so that we know that you will take care of us. Help us cast our worries on you. We need to feel your loving arms wrapped around us. We are your faithful people. Amen.
