Prayer for America 11/07/05

Thank you, Lord, for steeples. Thank you for the many churches, synagogues, and mosques and the many people and faiths they represent. Thank you that they point toward heaven and toward you.

Our nation is richly blessed with reminders that we should look to you. Our motto is "In God We Trust." But it's not just a motto, it's a motivation and a method--a way of looking at our past and to or future.

So give our pastors, rabbis, imams, priests, and elders wisdom. Guard their hearts, and deliver them from temptation. Help them each week to point us to that which is noble and true. But help them mot of all to point us to your throne and, ultimately, to you. Amen.
