Prayer for America 11/15/05

Prepare my heart, O God, for this season of Thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful for as a citizen of the United States. Regardless of my race, religion, or gender, I have a voice, a vote, and validity as a person of intrinsic worth. My rights are protected by the law, and a system of checks and balances helps prevent corruption in seats of power that might threaten those rights. I praise you, Lord, for my rights and privileges, and I thank you that they are upheld by a nation whose code of ethics gives dignity to its citizens.

Freedom and independence are two of life's most precious gifts.
