Prayer for America 03/23/06

You have commanded us, God, not to set our hopes on riches but on you. Daily, you provide us with all we need. In return, you appeal to us to be generous in good works and ready to share.

Americans have long been known for their generosity and willingness to share. We swell with emotion when we see strangers helping strangers in time of need, gathering goods and food and money. They inspire us to do the same.

We thank you, Father, that we live in a country where citizens freely open their hearts and their pockets in your name.
