Prayer for America 04/30/06

God, thank you for giving our leaders, past and present, the eyes to see that you created people to be free. Thank you for helping them realize that nothing should take away that freedom--not skin color, not race, not ethnic background. “We hold these truths to be self-evident.” they wrote, “that all men are created equal.”

Father, I thank you for creating us free and equal. I ask that you will continue to heal past wounds of racial inequality and prevent new wounds of racial strife. Please give us a unity as Americans that is bolstered by the diversity of our ethnicity. Please make it self-evident to all of us that you made us to become one nation under you.
