Prayer for America 06/08/06

O Holy One, we come to you a shattered people. Sorrow weighs us down. We feel surrounded by enemies. We are undone. We see tragedy around us, and we have no energy left to focus on the positive aspects of life. Pressures have built up within and without. We fear we cannot go on. And then we remember that you are not through with the world or with us. We hear a dim echo: With God all things are possible. And we know that the world can be repaired one step at a time if we lift our heads high and take that first step.

Help us not to be overwhelmed by this world's problems. Give us the strength to stand tall and search for solutions, form coalitions, anticipate the possible. Keep these words echoing in our hearts: With God all things are possible. All things are possible with God.
