Prayer for America 06/18/06

As our Father, you know how essential dad are. Children need a daddy who not only provides for them but also loves them and gives wise direction into their lives. Lord, you know how many families in our nation are missing fathers. Death, divorce, and misaligned priorities steal men away from their families.

I ask that you would turn the hearts of the fathers toward their children. Please remind them of their responsibility. Help them see the great opportunity to make their families strong.

And for the fathers who have accepted their noble duty, Lord, I ask you to give them strength. Grant them wisdom to know how to instill strong values in their kids. Grant them patience. And grant them the ability to communicate love and acceptance. God, make America's fathers strong and loving.

God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need.
