Prayer for America 07/03/06

God, I recall from my youth many Fourth of July parades and fireworks. I love celebrating Independence Day because of all the festivities. But now that I'’m older, Lord, I love the festivities because they are a memorial to an amazing triumph of vision and courage. Thank you for those men and women of the eighteenth century who risked their personal safety, even spilling their blood, to forge this nation. Thank you for their strong and brave character. Help me today, Father, as I continue in their footsteps, doing my part to keep the light of liberty shining brightly.
