Prayer for America 08/11/06

We see your love, O God, reflected across the spacious skies of our great nation. Your power is known in purple mountain majesties, and your abundant gifts to us are apparent in amber waves of grain. Yet even as we give thanks for your many gifts to us, we know that in every nation, in every individual heart, you work for good. Your gracious care extends past national boundary lines, crosses the divide of diverse languages, and rests on all your children. Help us find ways to learn about other nations, other citizens and their lives, so that we may join together across all boundaries and walls to work with you for the good of our world and all its people. Amen.
