Prayer for America 08/12/06

Dear God, thank you for the countless gifts and abilities you've given to the people of this country. Thank you for the mathematicians, the electricians, the artists, the teachers, the caretakers, the builders, and everyone in between. For those who cannot make sense of their checkbooks, bankers are miraculous. For those who cannot hit a nail on the head, builders are phenomenal. For those who cannot discern "on" from "off", electicians are the salt of the earth.

Truly, God, you have given to all of us something that we can give back to others. Help us see others through new eyes, no longer viewing and labeling them by their occupation but rather recognizing and affirming their abilities and talents. Amen.
