Prayer for America 08/14/06

Dear God, thank you for the land you have entrusted to us, for the glory of flowers, wild creatures, and trees. Help us conserve our bountiful resources of rich soil and clean water. Help us remember to protect the birds that ask nothing of us but that we let them sing. You give us the beauty and solace of nature. Let us understand that to cover our country with concrete is to blind ourselves to beauty and deafen ourselves to the earth's soothing music. Amen.
