Prayer for America 11/24/05

Lord, be our guest.

You call us to your table and fill it with the bounty of your harvest. may the food we share nourish our bodies as your love nourishes our souls.

Bless the children at this table. They are born of the love you placed in our hearts. To them belongs the future. Help us guide them well. Show us how to sow the seeds of faith so they reaps a harvest of peace and pletnty in years to come.

Bless the parents, grandparents, and family at this table. Guide us so we can honor your name and live your word. Grant us the strength and insight to sow what we wish to reap and to prepare the fields of the future for our children.

Bless those we love who are not at this table today. Wherever in the world they are, let the love of this family fill their hearts until they come home again.

And, Lord, bless those we love who sit at your table instead of ours today. We are together in spirit until the day you call us home, when we can feast together in eternity. Lord, be our guest.
