Prayer for America 03/31/06

God, in our efforts to improve life through technological advances, we run the risk of making life more complicated than it once was. Our phones, computers, pagers, and handhelds perform infinite tasks, but at the same time, we run the risk of being enslaved by their abilities. Those things that are meant to make life easier for us sometimes make life muddy and stressful and out of control.

Help us to find the balance between our ever-advancing lifestyle and simplicity. Don’t let us become controlled by a piece of equipment that has no identity, no soul, and no personality. Help our lives remain simple even as we strive to become wiser. Amen.
