Prayer for America 03/26/06

Lord, today the scent of spring is in the air, fresh and breezy, light and free in all its green expectancy.

Soon gardens will burst into bloom: daffodils pushing through the damp earth...Enough to make a Wordsworth dream come true. A host of golden-hooded glories to greet the sun! The woodlands will fill with deep gentian bluebells, then the first willow buds and tiny hedge roses. Lord, I can hardly wait!

So much promise, Lord. So much growth. There is so much hope in our hearts in springtime.

Help us, also, to bring forth our promise and bloom, to show ourselves in all our glory. Give us the strength to show and flourish. Let us bring joy and promise to our world, as you do. Lord, I can hardly wait!
