Prayer for America 05/10/06

Listening God, out of the fullness of our hearts we pray to you. You alone are holy. You alone are wise. It seems that just when we think we have it all figured out, something happens that disrupts our calm and calls everything we know into question. And we turn to you. We are not alone. You know our needs before we express them; your love reaches out to us even when we ignore you. Bless us. Comfort us. Keep us never to forget that your love can sustain us when the world crashes down around our feet and to realize we don’t know it all, can’t do it all, can survive only with your strength. Listening God, out of the fullness of our hearts we pray to you. Amen.
