Prayer for America 05/13/06

Lord, we pray for all people in want throughout our land. Despite the richness of our country, there are many who are needy in our communities. You have commanded us to care for those less fortunate.

Give us compassion as we deal with the problems of poverty, hunger, and homelessness. Let “the land of the free” include everyone within our borders.

In times of national emergency, these domestic problems become even more intense. Lend us your insights, Father, as we attempt to solve this dilemma. Give us wisdom to find solutions, and impress upon us the urgency of this mission.

Above all, teach us to give more of ourselves in your name.
