Prayer for America 06/21/06

As Americans, we are stirred by the words from our Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal..."

How comforting to remember that you, Lord, our Creator, have bestowed on us the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. When people tried to take those rights away, it took a government of the people to make them secure.

Keep that government strong, O God, against powers that would try to bring it to its knees. With you on our side, Lord, we shall continue to be "the land of the free and the home of the brave."
