Prayer for America 04/24/06

Lord, we Americans are compassionate, peace-loving people. When we see need, we rally and act to fulfill that need. When we see injustice, we stand together and speak out to call for change. We know, Lord, that peace and compassion calls for action and not just words.

Today, we ask you to let your love and compassion flow into our lives and out into the world through us and our actions. Make us instruments of your peace, in the truest sense of the word.

A hero is an ordinary person who works against extraordinary odds
to make the impossible a reality.
