Prayer for America 09/14/05

Almighty God, you have blessed the United States with freedom of speech. We confess that we do not always think before we speak. Guard our tongues so we use this freedom wisely. Let us speak in love, not in anger. Let us speak of love, not hate. Let us fulfill the expectations of our country's founders by letting love, along with freedom, ring from home to home, village to village, and shore to shore. In your name, amen.

When we recognize the monumental gift of freedom, it is only then that we can truly appreciate its significance.
