Prayer for America 09/15/05

All powerful God,
we praise your name!
We see all you have done,
and we want to dance and sing!
How great are your works!
When we want to take credit for our accomplishments,
let us instead give glory to you.
When we try to control our lives,
let us give our lives over to you.
When we are angry because things haven't turned out
the way we planned,
help us to see the new way you have prepared for us.
When we don't want to be bothered with others' needs,
fill us with your compassion.
All powerful God, we are your loving children.
